One form that my writing and publication takes is connected to my enjoyment of writing, reading and sharing poetry.

This image is of me with essa ranapiri (Māori) and Mere Taito (Rotuma) during the recording of a ‘NZ Poetry Day’ episode of the ‘Writing the New World’ podcast (2020).

In May 2023 Always Italicise was awarded the Mary and Peter Biggs Award for Poetry at the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards.

My first collection of poetry, Always Italicise: how to write while colonised, was published by Auckland University Press in Sept 2022.

In Dec 2023 it will be available to North American readers via University of Hawai’i Press.
